Everybody is always looking for makeup that's not only stunning, but is also long-lasting with great coverage. Yahoo Lifestyle recently talked to the Head of Makeup at Home and Away, Laura Vazquez, about which products she loves to use on the cast and why.
The celebrity makeup artist notes that the cast are often in quite natural makeup looks, saying: “We have the most beautiful cast members on the show, they’re all naturally blessed. It’s mainly just a foundation, a lip gloss, mascara and a bit of blush.”
Laura believes that a good foundation is ‘important’, as all the female cast on the show wear a base. The two brands that offer the cast long-lasting wear and great coverage are the Giorgio Armani and Nars foundations. The Giorgio Armani foundation is weightless and has quickly become a cult classic.
Fans will also be excited to know that the cast’s favourite mascara isn’t too expensive and can be purchased from a number of pharmacies and beauty stores. All the female cast tend to wear mascara as it helps to open their eyes. What makes this product so special is that the forumla includes Vitamin E for softer and healthy lashes.
Each cast member is unique and the celebrity makeup artist sometimes has to use a range of products, and Laura mentions she loves using the EVO brand for curly hair. This particular product is a styling balm that helps to reduce frizz while also smoothing and conditioning hair.
In the Home and Away makeup room, a H2D straightener is a must — and Yahoo Lifestyle has found a really cute rose gold edition that's on special. This hair straightener works faster than others due to the extended plate size. It's made with ceramic coated plates that are infused with tourmaline, meaning your hair will stay smoother and silkier. There's also a handy adjustable temperature control to help prevent damage, with a top temperature of 230 degrees.
If you’re after curly hair instead, you could go for this really popular H2D option. The curler comes with 5 interchangeable heads that can create a wide range of curls. If you want soft waves, tight curls or texture, you can do it all with this item.
The makeup artist’s top tip for our readers is to use a good concealer. “We all get tired and sometimes we get bags under our eyes, so a good concealer [is needed],” she says. This particular product is long-lasting and provides a full coverage finish. Laura loves the IT Cosmetic concealers, and Adore Beauty has a huge range of options — including one that hides breakouts.
The Nak hair brand is another favourite of Laura’s, and you can find their products on Oz Hair and Beauty, including this handy little spray. This product is water-free but can help set any style in place, without drying out your hair. We also love how small this 100g spray is, as you can easily carry it with you when travelling.
