Home and Away stars throw support behind colleague after devastating diagnosis

A beloved member of the Home and Away crew is battling stage four cancer.

The Home and Away community are rallying around one of their own, after one of their beloved co-workers, Bruce Murray, was diagnosed with stage four oesophageal cancer.

A GoFundMe page has been set up for Bruce, with organisers sharing that the cancer has entered his bloodstream and formed multiple cancers on his bones — including his ribs, spine, collar bone, sacrum, and hips.

Bruce is set to undergo radiation therapy on three of the most urgent areas — the spine, ribs, and hips, and will also undergo immunotherapy as well as chemotherapy.

The organisers said they were hoping to offer Bruce and his family "some comfort through these tough roads ahead".

"It’s going to be a long journey but we are positive and know our cherished Brucey is a strong one," the GoFundMe page read.

At the time of publishing, the GoFundMe had raised $38,157 of its $50,000 target.

Bruce has worked in the Australian TV industry for over 20 years, across Channel Seven shows like Home and Away and All Saints, as well as across production on Channel 10 shows Breakers, Good News Week, and Above The Law.
