Home and Away star reveals the truth behind iconic scene

"Do not mess with Gypsy."

Home and Away star Kimberly Cooper has shed some behind-the-scenes tea on an iconic scene she filmed back in the day with Ada Nicodemou.

Kimberley played Gypsy Nash on the hit soap, making her debut in 1998 and leaving the show in 2002, before briefly reprising her role in 2011.

In the throwback scene, Leah assumes Gypsy is upset about some dude named Harry. After Leah puts her foot in it, Gypsy starts confronting Leah about what she knows and she eventually caves and tells Gypsy that Harry (who I can only assume Gypsy has been dating) is in love with somebody else.

Next minute, in a classic softboi move, Harry (played by Justin Melvey) tells Gypsy he wants to give their relationship another go (after this other woman rejects him by the sounds of it) which causes Gypsy to confront him and hurl an object at him while screaming, "Stop lying to me!"

The scene is very dramatic and old mate Harry is left completely stunned, before Gypsy yells at him to get out and throws a second object before breaking down as Harry leaves.

A fan Instagram account dedicated to Home and Away's earlier years shared the emotional scene, with the fitting caption, "Do not mess with Gypsy."

Actress Kimberley Cooper then slid into the comments, spilling some tea about the iconic scene.

"Fun fact: I was only meant to throw something the once. When I threw the second stuff the cameraman ducked," Kimberly shared.

"And that’s the first time I’ve written 'ducked' and meant it!"

Fans were thrilled with the little bit of insider goss.

"Justin looks genuinely shook as well," one fan replied. "Amazing acting here Kimberley."

"You killed it!!!," another person wrote. "Do NOT mess with Gypsy!"

"It must have been fun to film. Getting to bang doors and throw things and release any stress," one person commented with Kimberley jokingly replying, "So fun I still do it at home!"
