Home and Away star Lukas Radovich hints at next big move
He may have only departed Home and Away in May this year but Lukas Radovich, who played Ryder Jackson in the Aussie soap, is already teasing new work on his socials!
"Making movie magic," he wrote on Instagram. "Watch this space!"
He then added in a later post:
"These pictures make me so happy.
"Getting to work with some of my favourite people on something entirely our OWN (@harismirza27 & @smartlett respectively) is entirely special.
"So much to share within the next few months."
Lukas played Alf Stewart's grandson Ryder from 2017 and was part of the soap's first LGBTQ+ storyline in almost a decade when his character shares a kiss with Marilyn and John's foster child Ty Anderson.
"I was really excited to be part of a new storyline – something that hasn't been done before, and something that I could explore with a TV show which is such a part of Australian culture," Lukas told Digital Spy at the time.
Even though his character was a teen who was still at school and Lukas was in his mid-20s, he could still relate to him.
"Even though the character is a little bit younger, I can still easily relate to that point in my life and it's been a lot of fun revisiting those years," Lukas revealed.
He also talked about what he'd like to do when he left the soap saying:
"I think I'd love to write and act in my own stuff, and work with people that I love.
"Both my brothers live in London, so I think my plan after my time in Home and Away is to make my way over to London and try to get a job there.
"Because I think the work that's being created there, in terms of TV and film, is really incredible.
"So I'd love to be a part of that," he added pre-pandemic.
Lukas chose to leave Home and Away after five years on the soap and said his farewells on screen in May and via Instagram as his final episodes aired.
"What an incredible ride. I can't really express how the last five years has felt or impacted my life so I’ll keep it short," Lukas said, announcing his departure on his social media account.
"I'll miss the job, but most importantly I'll miss the people."
Lukas also celebrated that he was able to have his parents and his boyfriend of three years, Aussie men's netballer Liam Forcadilla, in his final scenes from the show.
"Having my parents and @liamforcadilla appear as extras in my final episodes fills my heart," he wrote.
Post Home and Away, Lukas has been fitting in some travel to England and Scotland and a trip to Fiji with Liam.
Lukas has said that he hasn't completely turned his back on Home and Away though.
"The door is always open and I'm very grateful for that, but I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens," he told Digital Spy.
"Anything could happen in the next couple of years.
We'll keep the door open – it's never going to be closed, but for now, I'm excited to see what happens next for me."
