Jake Ryan on Kiwi gangs, Robbo's wild ride and 'Home and Away' in prisons

Home and Away’s resident ‘bad boy,’ Jake Ryan, joined host Danny Clayton in the Build Series Sydney studio to chat about how popular the long-running Aussie soap is in prisons.

It’s something Jake discovered while preparing for his role as a Kiwi gang member for his upcoming film Savage.

“No word of a lie, a lot of them watch Home and Away,” Jake revealed of the inmates he spoke with in the lead up to the film shoot.

“They were fans of [my character] Robbo, because he is your quintessential bad guy and at that time what was airing, I wasn't a federal agent. I was still a bad tough guy with tattoos on Home and Away,” he added.

The 36-year-old also hinted at what's in store for Robbo, who tied the knot with his on-screen love Jasmine, played by ex-Bachelor star Sam Frost, earlier this year.

“Trouble follows him where ever he goes,” he said.

“Action man Robbo is back,” he added.
