Ricky on Home And Away
Following on from this week’s Home And Away season finale comes the highly anticipated Presto special, An Eye For An Eye.
Shot like a mini-movie on HD cameras, and taking in the picturesque Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, the action centres on the Braxton family and their closest friends.
The story picks up 36 hours after the finale, with Ricky (Bonnie Sveen) thrilled when familiar faces Heath (Dan Ewing) and Bianca (Lisa Gormley) arrive in town.
But it’s not long before things take a terrifying turn, when Ricky’s son Casey is kidnapped in the middle of the night.
Ricky receives a call from Brax’s arch nemesis, Trevor ‘Gunno’ Gunson (Diarmid Heidenreich), who has busted out of jail and is demanding $50,000 ransom for Casey’s safe return.
‘It would be every mother’s worst nightmare, and I am not a mum, but it’s probably the richest of dramatic material that an actress could look at, because it would be awful having separation like that,’ Bonnie tells New Idea.
For Dan Ewing, the storyline hit close to home, having welcomed his first child, son Archer, with wife Marni Little in September last year.
Certainly being a father helped sell it to me. I think that’s another reason why I jumped onboard,’ he tells New Idea.
‘When I was pitched the story, it struck a lot more chords, because when you’re in dad mode, it changes everything.’
