Hoda Kotb Reveals Shocking Health Condition—and the Unique Way She Manages It

Hoda Kotb is opening up about a surprising health condition, and fans would have never even been able to tell it's something she deals with on a daily basis.

On a recent episode of Today with Hoda & Jenna, during the host's last week on the show, the longtime news anchor revealed that she's actually "legally blind."

Amid a discussion, Kotb's cohost, Jenna Bush Hager, asked, "Do you wear glasses?" to which the Hope Is a Rainbow author replied, "I'm legally blind—I wear one contact."

"You know why I wear one?" she asked, teasing, "And it's brilliant!"

The 60-year-old then shared her method for managing the condition daily, stating, but not without a disclaimer, "For anyone who's got terrible vision... I mean, I'm not your eye doctor, but if you wear one, you can see far and you can read, because this one doesn't have one in it. So I've always worn one."

Bush Hager seemed perplexed at the admission, arguing, "They make contacts like that!" as she jokingly commenced to raise one of her cohost's hands over her eye and test her on what she could and couldn't see with partial vision.

"That makes me dizzy," the mom of two daughters added of pre-made contact prescriptions that are different for both eyes, insisting of her own method, "This is so good."

Fans in the comments section chimed in on the banter with varying opinions.

One viewer claimed the vision management hack is tried and true, agreeing, "Yes me too doing the one contact thing for years. You can see far and read 😍👍."

"Woooow…I do the same thing. Had the bifocal contacts and hate them. This way I don’t have to wear the readers when I need to read up close…👏," another concurred, with a third joking, "I do the one contact every day! I mean, I got stopped for 5 tickets the other day, but other than that it works!! 😂."

Many more piled in, admitting that this does, in fact, seem to be common practice.
