Hillary Clinton's Reaction to Donald Trump Renaming the Gulf of Mexico at Inauguration Goes Viral

While Donald Trump's inaugural address was expected to raise eyebrows, Hillary Clinton had a very different kind of reaction.

In his speech on Monday, Jan. 20, Trump spoke about his plan to change the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the "Gulf of America."

"America will reclaim its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, most respected nation on earth, inspiring the awe, admiration of the entire world," he said, adding, "A short time from now, we will be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America and we will be restoring the name of a great president, William McKinley, to Mount McKinley, where it should be and where it belongs."

In a clip posted on X, the former Secretary of State burst into laughter at Trump's remarks. Behind her, several other audience members could also be seen laughing.

Commenters couldn't get enough of Clinton's honest response.

"Fair enough," one person wrote.

"I could watch this all day," somebody agreed.

"She gets it," raved another X user.

"My favourite moment of the day," declared someone else.

Trump has spoken about wanting to rename the Gulf of Mexico in the past.

“We’re going to be changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America,” Trump said during a press conference on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

“Which has a beautiful ring. That covers a lot of territory. The Gulf of America, what a beautiful name. And it’s appropriate. It’s appropriate.”

“And Mexico has to stop allowing millions of people to pour into our country," he added.
