Heather El Moussa Shares ‘the Reality of Working with Your Husband’s Ex-Wife’ When Tarek’s Call Is ‘Blocked’ by Christina Hall

Christina Hall has her ex Tarek El Moussa “blocked” — but not his current wife, Heather El Moussa —  in the latest funny promo for the trio’s upcoming show, The Flip Off.

In an Instagram video shared by all three HGTV stars on Monday, Sept. 23, Tarek, 43, attempts to reach Hall, 41, but gets a recording saying the call can’t be completed.

“She blocked you!” Heather, 37, teases, to which Tarek replies, “Yeah, not the first time." Heather suggests, “Should we try from mine?”

Hall then answers the call from Heather’s phone and the two women exchange pleasantries.

“The reality of working with your husband’s ex-wife…,” reads text over the video.

The caption accompanying the clip explains, “Tarek gets ‘disconnected’ and Heather gets ‘accepted’. Welcome to our modern family! 😎”

The home renovation stars have posted various skits to promoteThe Flip Off, which HGTV announced in May and is scheduled to premiere in 2025.

Christina’s estranged husband Josh Hall, 43, was originally set to participate in the show, in which the two couples would "compete to see who can find, buy, renovate and flip a house for the biggest financial gain (and a chance at major bragging rights),” according to the network’s description.

After Josh filed for divorce in July, Christina, Tarek and Heather continued to post new promos for the series without him.

In another video HGTV shared last week, Christina interrupts a cute moment between Tarek and Heather.

The Christina on the Coast star pops up from behind the couple as they’re smiling and holding hands, and they all then appear to laugh.

The clip is set to “Me, You and Steve,” a song by the comedy folk duo Garfunkel and Oates, which describes a third wheel and includes the lyrics, “I can't believe that it's finally me and you, and you and me, just us, and your friend Steve.”

Tarek and Christina, who previously costarred on HGTV’s Flip or Flop, split in 2016 after seven years of marriage. They share two children, daughter Taylor, 14, and son Brayden, 9.

Christina is also mom to son Hudson, 5, whom she shares with her second husband, Celebrity IOU: Joyride host Ant Anstead. Tarek and Heather welcomed a son, Tristan, in 2023.

Josh is Christina’s third husband. His July 15 filing after nearly three years of marriage cited "irreconcilable differences" and asked for spousal support from the Christina in the Country star.

Christina responded with her own legal filing on July 24, which asked that neither partner be allowed to request support, and listed the real estate properties at stake in the divorce — including their $12 million Newport Beach, Calif. Mansion.

While HGTV has not officially addressed Josh's involvement in the series post split, multiple sources told PEOPLE that The Flip Off had returned to filming without him in the wake of the divorce filing.

In the first Flip Off promo released after Christina and Josh’s split, she and Heather joked that they were the “brains” behind Tarek.

In August, the trio starred in another skit that saw the two women dressed identically while deciding what to order at a coffee shop.

"Ladies, ladies, you're gonna want to get the Blonde Hippie,” Tarek told them. He added, “And trust me, I have good taste."
