‘Heartstopper’ Season 3 Trailer Brings Nick, Charlie & Co. Into More Mature Moments
Heartstopper Season 3’s trailer has arrived, and with it, more grownup themes for the tight-knit friend group of Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) and Nick Nelson (Kit Connor).
Season 3 of the Netflix YA series, based on the graphic novels by Alice Oseman, will take key events from the fourth book into account in the upcoming eight episodes. All episodes will land at once on the streamer on Oct. 3. Charlie and Nick both have serious topics of conversation to broach — Charlie wants to tell Nick he loves him, and Nick wants to ask Charlie about his eating disorder.

Set to Griff’s “Vertigo,” the trailer opens with the group having a beach day, but Charlie looks withdrawn, watching his friends make sandcastles as Nick approaches him to get him to take his earbuds out.
“16 is when nothing makes sense anymore,” Locke’s voice says over a scene in which Isaac (Tobie Donovan) third wheels Tao (William Gao) and Elle (Yasmin Finney) during a movie night.
Back to the beach, Tara Jones (Corinna Brown) voices her stress over the upcoming school year: “Starting Sixth Form, thinking about Uni options, it’s all just…”
“A lot?” Nick finishes her sentence for her.

Meanwhile, Nick has noticed that Charlie struggles with eating, and he begins a gentle confrontation of the subject without mentioning food.
Elle and Tao look to take things to the next level, but physical intimacy is difficult for Elle, who is transgender, at first.
“When you put your hand there, all my dysphoria just hit me,” she tells Tao.
As Charlie’s voiceover says, the friendship group is “all over the place.”
Charlie’s sister Tori tells him that she constantly worries about him, too. Nick confides in his Aunt Diane (Haley Atwell) about his concerns for his boyfriend, and she supports him.
“Sometimes, people need more support than one person can give,” she tells a tearful Nick over a montage of Charlie going away in a yellow car, the two of them holding hands before confronting something and Charlie planning a surprise for Nick. “You can be there for him, standing together, even when it’s hard. That’s love, darling.”
“Intimacy is trusting someone enough to let go of some control,” Charlie’s therapist Geoff (Eddie Marsan).

Isaac cheekily points out that maybe Charlie will get some good advice in sex ed class, but the unceremonious presentation of cucumbers and condoms on their desk makes him rethink as the boys laugh to each other.
Jonathan Bailey’s Jack Maddox appears at a book signing at the end of the clip, taking Nick by surprise with his charm and good looks.
Netflix released new images for the show, depticting three new characters cast in guest roles as well as Darragh Hand as Michael Holden, a character from Oseman’s Solitaire novels, within the Heartstopper universe. Find the new photos below:
