Machine Gun Kelly continues to take on a new genre.

The rapper, 34, covered The Chicks' 1998 song "There’s Your Trouble" at Spotify House during CMA Fest 2024 in June, and now the twangy cover is available for streaming on Spotify as part of a special edition of Spotify Singles.

"My dad used to play this Chicks album 24/7," MGK said. "Fun tribute to him and to great song writing. Thanks, Nashville."

Released alongside his cover is Keith Urban’s take on "We Can’t Be Friends (Wait for Your Love)" by Ariana Grande and Avery Anna rendition of "Say Something" by A Great Big World.

All three songs were recorded live on stage at Spotify House.

The music festival took place from June 6-9 at Nissan Stadium in Nashville with Spotify having a presence for the fifth year. The music company was in attendance for three days, from June 6-8, at Blake Shelton's Ole Red venue with an array of special guests, which also included appearances by BRELAND, Little Big Town, Luke Bryan and viral yodeler Mason Ramsey.

MGK is continuing to expand his repertoire with another country song. In June, MGK he made some movements, having shared a cover of Zach Bryan's "Sun to Me." Most recently, he premiered the music video for his new duet "Lonely Road" with Jelly Roll, which samples the popular country song "Country Roads, Take Me Home" by John Denver.

In the music video, MGK’s partner Megan Fox made headlines for appearing with a growing baby bump which the rapper interacted affectionately with. As eight months pass in the video, the actress is seen carrying a baby girl while visiting MGK in jail.

In a joint Instagram post shared by MGK and Jelly Roll ahead of the release, the duo explained their long journey to getting the song complete. "We worked on 'Lonely Road' for 2 years, 8 different studios, 4 different countries, changed the key 4 times, and this Friday you’ll hear we finally got it right," they wrote while sharing a teaser clip. 

The rapper praised his collaborator in another post, writing, "Jelly you are living breathing badass and a kindred soul who has shown me the path of redemption and what it looks like to believe in yourself against all odds."
