'The Healthy Snickers Bar I'm Begging Everyone to Try ASAP'

I've loved Snickers bars for as long as I can remember. Something about the sweet saltiness combined with a nutty crunch and nougaty chewiness is just impossible to beat.

The only problem? As a health editor, I sadly have to admit that my favorite candy bar isn't healthy. One 1.86-ounce Snickers bar contains 26 grams of added sugar (it's recommended that women consume no more than 25 grams of added sugar per day, and that consume no more than 36 grams), and 4.5 grams of saturated fat, which is 23% of the recommended daily saturated fat value.

Enter the UNREAL dark chocolate caramel nougat bar. I've always been a fan of UNREAL as a healthier Halloween candy brand, but somehow I had never tried their take on the Snickers bar. And let me tell you, this candy bar tastes just as good—if not better—than the real thing. The best part about eating it? It doesn't leave me with that buzzy sugar high followed by the inevitable crash.

At just 90 calories per bar (although it's worth noting that they are a bit smaller than a traditional Snickers bar), UNREAL's caramel peanut nougat bars contain just 6 grams of added sugar and 1.5 grams of saturated fat. They're also made up of 70% organic ingredients, are non-gmo, fair trade and sweetened without corn syrup or sugar alcohols.

Although I always recommend eating a full, nutritious breakfast (oatmeal for the win!), I have to admit that I've grabbed a couple of these while rushing out the door in the morning and felt really energized for a few hours afterward. Can't beat candy for breakfast, right?
