How would you describe the average Aussie bloke?

Tough? Masculine? Loves his footy?

According to a new survey by website AskMen, the typical Australian man is not so typical.

The poll's publishers say he's happy, honest and content. There's more good news too, with AskMen declaring Australian men "media savvy, style conscious, generous lovers and thoughtful providers."

Poll: Women feel sexiest at 28

Perhaps reflecting our stereotypical national laid-back character, most Australian men trust their partners' online behaviour, with 60 per cent of surveyed men reporting that they don't care what their partner does online.

They're still a relatively conservative bunch, with 70 per cent saying they believe in the institution of marriage, but they're not totally against change, with a blessed 70 per cent of fellas saying they'd take a male contraceptive pill if it was available.

There are more than a few romantics out there, with 39 per cent of Aussie men saying that a trip away is a top romantic gesture. A solid 35 per cent of blokes say that they're happy with their sex life, but a worrying 28 per cent said they had no sex life at all, which is a shame as they're good lovers - 93 per cent said they care if their partner orgasms or not.

The survey surfaced some scary stats, such as the 60 per cent of men who've never been tested for STIs, and the 42 per cent who said they'd never cheat on their partner, even if he or she never found out, leaving a lot of slimey speciments out there who would!

Grooming turns out to be important too, with 75 per cent admitting they'd get their teeth whitened, and 77 per cent confessing to dressing to impress women.

We're happy to report they've got good taste - 54 per cent named Emma Stone as their ideal woman, while 71 per cent have had enough of Kim Kardashian and Justin Bieber.
