What happened to Australia's Next Top Model's Didier Cohen?

DJ Didier Cohen is best known for his role as model mentor on Australia’s Next Top Model.

However, since the show’s last season at the end of 2016, he’s been relatively quiet. Until now.

Sharing a very personal post on Instagram the 33-year-old admitted he had gone into hiding and taken a break from social media, as he focused on his health after being diagnosed Lyme disease back in March.

“Im back…,” he wrote.

“So a few months ago i had to leave social media. I needed to go into treatment with my mind right and fight this Lyme.. I am happy to say that with the help of @infusiobeverlyhills i am healthier now than i have been in months, maybe years..”

“I still have horrible days and its still a struggle but i am on my way.. Thank you to everyone who has supported me and has sent love. I was rock bottom and you guys got me through…” [sic]

Now, the model has revealed a bullseye tattooed on his neck, and announced he is an ambassador for the Lyme Disease Association of Australia.

“[And] this tattoo represents the early sign of Lyme disease. While only 50% of cases see this rash, for those that do, please go and seek medical attention,” he told fans.

“I know that Lyme is not properly recognised in Australia BUT I am going to do all I can to change that and create as much awareness as possible [sic].”

A lot seems to have changed in Didier’s life, as the once-engaged producer, seems to have broken up with his fiancee, model Jade Cara.

In February 2016, the couple announced their engagement and he took to Twitter to express his gratitude.

Sweet nothings 💕

“I get to spend the rest of my life with my best friend and soul mate,” he said at the time.

Now, Jade is living in the US and there have been no couples pics posted since February 2017.

Thankfully though, Didier seems to be on the up, focusing on himself and getting the medical help he needs.

Concluding his “comeback post”, he said. “Stay tuned for a bunch of new music and tour dates coming soon”.
