Guy Fieri Shares His New Orleans Favorites for Super Bowl 2025 Including a ‘Mind-Blowing' Attraction (Exclusive)
"You can't swing a shoe and not hit a good time," Guy Fieri says of New Orleans, which is hosting the Super Bowl for the eleventh time
Guy Fieri knows his way around New Orleans.
The Food Network star — who will be in Louisiana for Super Bowl 2025 to host Guy’s Flavortown Tailgate on Feb. 9 — has filmed at a number of restaurants in NOLA for his show, Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.
"I can do a whole show just about eating in New Orleans," he tells PEOPLE. "That's how great the food is."
The city has so much to offer that Fieri says choosing a go-to restaurant is like asking, "Who's your favorite kid?" he says. "But I will say there was one of the first places that we ever did — and my buddy Emeril [Lagasse] was with me — called Mahony's. That's one of my all-time favorites."
The counter-service joint is known for its wide selection of po-boys. Fieri recalls ordering the Peacemaker — a fried shrimp and oyster po-boy with bacon, cheddar cheese — during the 2010 episode of Triple D.
Mahony's is just one of the many local eateries coming together to offer food at Fieri's free pre-game Super Bowl party. Guy’s Flavortown Tailgate is taking place at Mardi Gras World from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. before the Kansas City Chiefs face the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome.
Fieri loves the game's host city for more than just the food.
"You can't swing a shoe and not hit a good time. There's so much going on," he tells PEOPLE. "Last time I was in New Orleans not doing Triple D — I was there with my family, we were taking a road trip all the way across the country — we went and got in one of the carriages, and rode around through the historic area and had the tour."

"It was mind-blowing," he adds. "I thought I had a real good handle on what goes on in New Orleans, but it gave me such a different perspective. I tell that to people all the time when they go to Italy, 'Just go to the Coliseum and have that tour and really do it. Don't just walk around yourself.' Oh, my gosh, there's so much history in New Orleans, it's mind-blowing."
Super Bowl 2025 kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Fox.
