These Grocery Store Cinnamon Buns Are 'Better Than Cinnabon'

I'm going to need one ASAP.

One of my favorite grocery store secrets is that Whole Foods has the best baked goods. I understand that this is an unexpected opinion, as Whole Foods isn’t necessarily known for its bakery section. But, their confections have yet to disappoint me.

While I’m tempted to keep my favorite spot for a sweet treat to myself, the Whole Foods bakery section is too good for me not to share. Don’t believe me? All it takes is a quick look at some of its treats and you’ll agree.

For example, the Whole Foods Brown Butter Cookies are a long-time favorite of mine and a must-grab on all grocery runs. Plus, their Berry Chantilly Cake is my go-to for any birthday or special occasion. Both are always crowd favorites that have people shocked they weren’t sold from a storefront bakery.

With a lineup like this, it's clearly worth running to Whole Foods for a baked good. So, when I saw the grocery store had a new item in stores, I knew it wouldn’t disappoint. I do need to warn you, though, that once you learn about this sweet treat, you might be unable to stop thinking about it.

Whole Foods Is Now Selling Take-And-Bake Cinnamon Rolls

Whole Foods’ newest addition to its baked goods section is take-and-bake cinnamon rolls. The frozen rolls are sold in a package of four for you to take home and pop in the oven whenever you're craving a freshly baked cinnamon treat and don't have time to make it from scratch.

When grabbing some take-and-bake rolls, make sure to snag a tub of cream cheese icing to drizzle on top. While you could bake the rolls without frosting, skipping the gooey glaze topping should be considered a crime. If anything, I’m tempted just to buy the icing, grab a spoon, and eat it on its own.

The cinnamon rolls are sold for $7.99. But, in some locations, customers have reported that the icing is sold separately. While it might be a bit of a splurge compared to your average dough in a can, these look so decadent and delicious that I think it's worth it.

The cinnamon rolls are a new addition to the Whole Foods take-and-bake section. The grocery chain offers a variety of frozen foods for cooking at home, including brown butter cookie dough, croissants, and pizza. But, I think these cinnamon rolls might take the top spot. From what I’ve seen, I’m not alone in this opinion, as many fans of the treat have shared their love on social media.

What Fans Are Saying About Whole Foods' Cinnamon Rolls

If you aren’t already convinced you have to try one of these cinnamon rolls from Whole Foods, watch a couple of videos of people making them, and you will be.

Instagrammer @eatsbyrachel recently posted a Reel of the grocery store find. She even went as far as to say the Whole Foods cinnamon rolls are “better than Cinnabon,” which is a high bar to set.

Users headed to the comment section to share their reviews of the product. “The icing is divine,” one commenter said. “The best I’ve had!” said another.

A couple of other users also recommended adding some heavy cream to the tray before tossing these rolls in the oven, a hack we also love. The addition of the cream makes your cinnamon rolls extra soft and delicious. I didn’t know it was possible to make cinnamon rolls even fluffier, but it looks like I’m going to have to give it a try.

See what I mean when I say the Whole Foods baking section is where the best treats come from? Seems like the store is on a roll (no pun intended) with its bakery section these days, and I’m not mad about it—even if all I can think about now is getting my hands on some cinnamon rolls.
