"I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself," Rodrigo asserted.

Olivia Rodrigo has a foolproof method for screening her dates — and Grimes thinks the pop star has a point.

During a Friday Instagram interview with Netflix, the “Vampire” singer addressed one of her dating "red flags" while showing off the signature tees she wore onstage for her GUTS World Tour.

While presenting a shirt that said “Dump Him” — a reference to an iconic Britney Spears outfit — Rodrigo said, “This is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates: I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space. And if they say yes, I don’t date them.”

Laughing, she explained, “I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself. I think it’s just weird.”

Rodrigo’s theory sparked lots of agreement in the comments section, and even more as the clip made the rounds on social media. Among her supporters was none other than Grimes, the fellow singer who shares three kids with SpaceX founder Elon Musk.

"It’s true,” Grimes wrote on X, under a repost of Rodrigo’s comments. “Only women should be going to space.”

Meanwhile, Musk has continued to reiterate his intent to put humans on Mars by 2030, recently writing on his social media platform X, "SpaceX hopes to offer travel to Mars to anyone who wants to go, bearing in mind that it will be like a long sea voyage in centuries past — dangerous and uncomfortable, but great adventure!"

Grimes and Musk, who were first linked in 2018, share three children: son XAE-A-Xii, daughter Exa Dark Sideræl and son Techno Mechanicus. In 2022, Grimes revealed that the couple had split and a year later, referred to their relationship as "the best internship ever.” She went on to praise Musk’s continued efforts with his aerospace company.

"People don't like talking about Elon, but it was incredible to be right there watching all that SpaceX stuff happen,” she said in 2023. “That's a master class in leadership and engineering and makes you understand how rare it is to have a leader of that quality."

As for Rodrigo, the singer has been linked to Enola Holmes actor Louis Partridge, who first sparked dating rumors when they were spotted kissing in NYC last December. More recently, Rodrigo accompanied Partridge to the Venice Film Festival in August, while he joined her for the Philippines stop on her GUTS World Tour.
