Gordon Ramsay Restaurant Shutters After Multiple Complaints Over 'Bad Everything'
Gordon Ramsay appears to be facing one of his own Kitchen Nightmares after a slew of negative reviews preceded the sudden closure of one of his restaurants.
The Kensington St. location of his UK chain Street Burger shut down recently, with a photo obtained by the Daily Mail showing the former Ramsay-branded storefront rebranded as a new Burger & Lobster, with brown paper blocking the windows as the building presumably undergoes renovations, while the location's website now shows a 404 error.
However, online review pages remain plagued by complaints over the "Bad taste bad service bad size bad price bad everything" allegedly provided by the location in the months prior to its shutdown, with its final rating on Tripadvisor equalling only 3.5 stars.
The final review, written on Jan. 5, 2025, was simply titled "Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad Bad," referencing the aforementioned "bad everything" before suggesting that if the problems had "something to do with Gordon [Ramsay's recipes]," he needed to "wake up!"
Several other reviews backed up the opinion, with another noting that they've "never felt so unwelcome at a restaurant" and multiple people complaining about the "outrageously expensive" cost for "basic burgers" with "tiny portions."
"Felt ripped off," one admitted, going on to complain that the room was "so dark I could barely see my cold expensive but tasty burger."
Multiple reviewers were also "really disappointed" with the wait times.
"Had to wait over an hour for the food, it was cold when we finally got the food," one wrote, in part, adding that they were "not very busy but took ages for the service."
"Not that busy yet took one hour to get burger and chips," another shared, noting that the "chips were cold" on arrival.
"Gordon, you need to get down there and sort this restaurant out!" another reviewer demanded, wondering what was so "hard about running a burger joint...?"
"Particularly one that’s half empty at the time," they added, admitting that the burger and chips "were delicious when they finally arrived" but that the staff was "very distracted" and failed to bring them water.
Parade has reached out to Ramsay's representatives for comment.
