Goldendoodle Picks Out Autumn Lambchop and Can't Contain His Excitement
An adorable Goldendoodle was able to pick out a new toy, and once he found an autumn Lambchop, he could barely contain his excitement.
On September 4, 2024, Vito the Dog Father (@vitothedogfather) shared a video of the cute Goldendoodle who was in love with his new toy. Take a look!
Vito is a cute Goldendoodle who wasn't feeling his best, but his parent knew exactly what would cheer him up.

"My dog was feeling sad that his summer Lambchop was destroyed, so I did this to cheer him up," the text on the video reads. In the video, we see a sad Vito holding his broken summer Lambchop in his mouth.
The video continued, "We took a walk to the dog store," as Luca, the Goldendoodle, led the way.
When they reached the pet store, Luca could pick out "anything he wanted." Luca walked through the store and inspected many toys and treats, too.
Luca chose a bag of treats but also wanted a plushie. He found one that he really liked: a huge plushie that looked bigger than him and was too big.
But he and his parent came to a compromise and Luca got a new fall Lambchop.
"He carried his new toy to the checkout and waited for me to pay," the video explains. "Then he carried his new toy all the way home.
"He carried his new toy all the way to the front door and happily shaked his tail to say thank you to me," the video reads. "Then he took his new Lambchop to his bed. He loved his surprise, and he's a happy boy again."
When Luca was walking home with his new toy in his mouth, you could tell by his mannerisms that he was a very happy doggo. And his tail was a give-away, too.
"His little happy prance," the video's caption shared. In the comment section, people were so happy for Luca.
One wrote, "Oh my god, he’s an angel!"
Another shared, "I had a terrible day today; this brought the biggest smile to my face."
Someone else added, "Woohoo, new lamb chop! So jealous you’re walking distance to my favorite store!"
One said, "If this is not the cutest thing I have ever seen, he is precious and so happy."
Why Do Dogs Like Plushies
It's very clear that Luca loves his plushies, and he's not the only dog who goes into happy mode when a plushie is around. But with so many toys, why do dogs like plushies so much?
According to Petmate, there are many reasons why dogs love plushies and their love for these toys is "deeply rotted in their natural instincts."
"Many dogs have a strong prey drive, an instinctive behavior inherited from their wild ancestors," Petmate explains. "Plush toys can mimic the texture and appearance of prey animals, triggering a dog's natural hunting instincts."
Plushie toys can also provide comfort and security, relieve teething, provide mental stimulation, and be a great tool for bonding.
Of course, if you're giving your dog a plushie toy, you must ensure it's safe.
"Check the toy for any signs of wear and tear. If the toy is damaged, it's time to replace it to prevent choking hazards," Petmate suggests.
It's also important to choose a toy that's an appropriate size for your dog to prevent choking. Petmate suggests finding a chew-resistant plushie toy if your dog likes to chew.
