Golden Retriever’s Epic Pool Splash Almost Turns Into a Corgi Catastrophe
Sibling rivalry is a common occurrence, whether it’s between children or pets. Dogs are known to compete for attention and food, not hesitating to push each other aside to get what they want. While this behavior is usually harmless, there are moments when it can be concerning.
An example of this is captured in a video from August 8 showing a Corgi dashing into a pool with her Golden Retriever brother. Thankfully, everyone is safe, and the slow-motion replay will leave you in stitches!
Oh, sweet Ruby, I feel bad for laughing! However, this little girl is a total trooper, and she seemed unbothered by her big Golden Retriever brother Maui (@maui_thegoldenpup), landing on top of her as he dove after the frisbee. The slow-motion replay hilariously shows how he eclipsed her as he leaped toward his toy, but it was her tiny feet sticking up from his wake that was priceless. This strong little swimmer popped right back up and kept going. It’s an attitude of perseverance, and she handled it much better than most children if their big brother had landed on top of them. When you grow up with a big Golden goofball, adopting a carefree attitude is essential.

Are Corgi’s Strong Swimmers?
Although many parents report their Corgis are able swimmers, their long bodies and short legs don’t make them natural-born water dogs. However, with practice, patience, and early introductions, these dogs can learn to swim. Just like with any dog or child, constant supervision when they are playing in the water is essential to prevent any tragedy from occurring. When introduced at a young age, wearing a life jacket is another layer of protection that most dogs acclimate well to. As we can see here, it only takes seconds for something to go wrong.
People couldn’t get enough of this near-diving disaster. Viewer @sandropeta responded, “I laughed entirely too hard at this, the little legs in the air.” It’s impossible not to be amused at those tiny toes. Viewer @katiemacpennington remarked, “This really made me laugh out loud, and I rarely laugh at reels.” We can all be thankful that the camera was rolling to capture this at the right moment. Viewer @jessiedaxsetkus responded, “I think I’ve watched this 500 times, and it gets funnier every time. Poor Ruby, lol.” Once we all knew she was OK, it became easier to laugh each time we saw it.
I’m very grateful to know that Ruby is not only doing well but is feeling stronger than ever. We can all adopt this positive outlook when things don’t go as planned.
