Gogglebox favourites reveal they've quit the show

Gogglebox favourites Wayne Mott and Tom Walsh have revealed they’ve quit the Channel Ten show and won’t be returning for the next season.

Tom revealed the pair have “three episodes left” to film, but wouldn’t be renewing their contracts with the network beyond that.

“I’ve had a lot of fun. And I think its just time,” Tom told the Word For Word podcast.

“Me and Wayne are ready to retire. We’re ready to buy a farm and go bush.”

While TV Tonight has since reported that the couple may have ‘had a change of heart’ since making the comments, they seemed adamant that even if they were offered a salary increase, their time on the show had come to an end and they didn’t wish to return.

Fans of the show were understandably shocked at the news.

Please don’t let it be true,” one person wrote on Twitter.

Gonna miss these guys on the box,” another shared online.

Gogglebox Australia was voted the most popular entertainment program at this year’s Logie awards.

Thankfully it seems we may still have the ever-entertaining Mike and Di to help fill the hole left by Wayne and Tom’s departure.

Di and her husband are known for their hilariously entertaining commentary as they view some of the most intriguing television shows.

Back in April some of 71-year-old Di’s former modelling photos from back in the day were shared, which saw her in the news.

Channel Ten has yet to comment on Wayne and Tom’s potential departure.
