'GMA's Ginger Zee Sparks Confusion Among Fans With New Family Photo

It wasn't particularly surprising when Ginger Zee took to Instagram to wish her husband, Ben Aaron, a happy 43rd birthday. What did raise eyebrows, however, was the photo she chose to share.

On Tuesday, Sept. 10, Zee celebrated Aaron's big day by posting a carousel of photos to Instagram including a black-and-white pic of Zee, Aaron, and their two sons, Adrian and Miles, that left some fans a bit confused: The family posed for the camera in a boiler room, with Miles holding an upside down TV and Adrian standing on a tub.

"Happiest birthday to the man born on the peak of hurricane season who suggests the boiler room for family photos! We love you deeply —Happy 43rd my love ❤️@karenmorneauphotography …thank you for trying new things lol," Zee captioned her post.

The photographer responsible for the portrait was one of the first to respond to the post, writing, "I have to say family photos in the boiler room was a first!"

Other commenters were similarly perplexed but ultimately amused.

"For a second I thought the boiler room was a club.then I realize- No. Just your boiler room," wrote one fan.

"G - are you holding onto a container of spackling!? 😂💕" asked another Instagram user, with another person calling the photo "funny but a keeper for sure!"

In the second photo of the carousel, Zee and Aaron, who've been married since 2014, shared a silly hug. The third snap was a screenshot of a weather report showing a peak in storm activity on Sept. 10, proving that a boiler room might actually have been one of the safest spots for the family to spend Aaron's birthday.
