Glenn Howerton takes issue with “Abbott Elementary” doc cameras in “It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia” crossover clip (exclusive)
Paddy's Gang are ready to volunteer at Abbott Elementary.
It might be always sunny in Philadelphia, but that doesn't mean there aren't some clouds about to hit Abbott Elementary school.
A major crossover event kicks off on Wednesday's episode of Abbott Elementary, as the "Gang" of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia shows up at the school for a week of volunteering. Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive clip from the first of two crossover episodes.

In the clip, Janine (Quinta Brunson) welcomes the new volunteers to Abbott, as Charlie (Charlie Day) rejoices at the new volunteer badge he's been given. The crew is mostly happy to be there, until Dennis (Glenn Howerton) notices the cameras filming them. Ava (Janelle James) tries to dismiss it, saying, "We have like a Vanderpump thing going on, don't worry about it."
But Dennis isn't having it. "No, I don't think so," he says. "I know quite a bit about filming and consent."
The rest of the gang, however, seems unbothered. So, who knows what antics they'll get up to on camera.
This episode is perhaps the most highly anticipated of Abbott's fourth season after creator and star Quinta Brunson teased it at San Diego Comic-Con last summer. "We will be doing an interesting crossover this season," she hinted. "But I’m not gonna tell you with who or what or when, but it will be exciting, and I think it will change television as we know it."
Many immediately speculated that it could be with It's Always Sunny, given the shared Philadelphia setting and the importance of the city to both shows' universes. Additionally, both shows' creators had expressed a desire for a crossover event on social media in the past. They officially announced the special episode in October.

But the FX R-rated comedy and the primetime network sitcom aren't necessarily a natural pairing. "I will just say that when [Quinta] came to us with it, I was like, 'How are we going to make this work?'" producer Justin Halpern previously told Entertainment Weekly. "I was really excited about it, but I was like, 'I do not know how this is going to work.'"
