German Shepherds Prepare for Cuteness and Chaos Welcoming New Puppy Sibling
It's equally exciting and nerve-wracking to bring home a new puppy. Will the rest of the pack welcome them? Or will there be endless chaos? Although we can guess how it will go, there's no way to know until the day arrives.
However, it isn't so scary if these German Shepherds exemplify what might happen. In fact, they may inspire you to take home a new pup of your own.
Take a look at this video from August 23 to see this happy homecoming.
Onyx is a lovely addition to the family! What well-behaved older siblings Jade (@jadethesablegsd), Jasper, and Jet are to their new baby brother. They all have the perfect amount of curiosity and indifference, making his introduction much more manageable for Mom. The older dogs probably know that a puppy brings lots of fun to a household, but it can also be challenging, so it's fair to have mixed emotions. Although baby Onyx might have initially been unsure of his new surroundings, he's had no trouble fitting in. His mom tells us he's one of the sweetest and most well-behaved dogs she's ever raised. She reveals he's not even had an accident in the house. Wow! He must be picking up on the conduct of his brothers and sister.

Tips for Making Puppy Introductions Easier
Keep things even. Whenever possible, try to make introductions on neutral ground. If that's not possible, keeping the puppy separated in a crate or a baby gate as they become acquainted can be helpful.
Straighten up. Pick up toys, bones, and food bowls for the initial introduction to their new home. This can help prevent resource guarding and reduce the chance of disputes.
Keep a watchful eye. During this initial meeting and greet, watch for signs of stress or agitation and temporarily separate them if necessary.
Get help. If you're unsure of how your dog will react and feel stressed about making introductions, seek the help of a professional. Having a trainer to assist can make it easier for everyone.
People were excited to see the newest member of the pack. Viewer @higgins.patti responded, "Judging by the size of Onyx, it looks like you need a bigger house. He is adorable." He has some big paws! Viewer @remy_the_rescue_malx remarked, "He's adorable, but you know Jade is thinking, what the heck, not another one!" Having three brothers is tough on a girl! Viewer @jdmess responded, "This one should be named LAYS Chips because you can't have just one GSD!" Ha! That's so true.
This new addition will undoubtedly fill this home with laughter and joy. Although Onyx might be extra work, our dogs are always worth it.
