‘Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage’ Scores Full Season Order at CBS

“Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage” has been picked up for a full season at CBS, Variety has learned.

The news comes roughly two weeks after the series premiere, with the show launching on Oct. 17. The show serves a spinoff of “Young Sheldon,” which was itself a prequel to “The Big Bang Theory.”

“With the resounding success of ‘The Big Bang Theory’ and ‘Young Sheldon,’ we were instantly on board when Chuck, Steven and Steve brought us the idea to further explore this world through ‘Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment. “The enthusiastic audience reception has demonstrated the enormous appeal of these characters and we can’t wait to see all of the hilarious fun this season will undoubtedly deliver.”

According to Nielsen Live+7 data, the series premiere rose from a 0.47 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.56 million viewers to a 0.67 and 8.5 million viewers after seven days of availability. Per Paramount and VideoAmp, the premiere episode has reached 10.6 million multiplatform viewers.

Montana Jordan and Emily Osment star in the series in the title roles. Per the official logline, the series “follows Georgie (Jordan) and Mandy (Osment) as they raise their young family in Texas while navigating the challenges of adulthood, parenting and marriage.” Rachel Bay Jones, Will Sasso, Dougie Baldwin and Jesse Prez also star.

“Georgie and Mandy’s First Marriage” airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS and streams live and on demand on Paramount+. The series was created by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, and Steve Holland, with all three executive producing. The show is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc., in association with Warner Bros. Television, where Lorre is under an overall deal.
