George Stephanopoulos Shares Unfiltered Thoughts on Interviewing Donald Trump (Exclusive)
George Stephanopoulos is sharing his unfiltered opinions about interviewing President Donald Trump.
The longtime political commentator, 64, opened up about the subject while chatting exclusively with Parade at the red carpet premiere of Broadway's Good Night, and Good Luck in New York City on Thursday, April 3.
"[I've] probably interviewed Donald Trump 50 times, and it's always a challenge," he tells Parade. "But it's important to make sure we're asking the right questions [and] holding our policymakers and the public officials to account."
While Stephanopoulos has interviewed some of the most influential people in the world from all walks of life across different industries, the political analyst goes on to tell Parade that he actually gets most nervous when he has to interview actors.
"Probably the most nervous I ever got was the first time I interviewed Meryl Streep because I was such a massive fan," he explains. "l am such a massive fan of Meryl Streep that I was just starstruck. I was too intimidated to ask the questions, but I made it through."
Stephanopoulos was one of many A-list guests in attendance at George Clooney's highly anticipated Broadway debut on Thursday night. In addition to Clooney, 63, the production also stars Mac Brandt, Will Dagger, Ilana Glazer and more.
