George Clooney Gushes Over Wife Amal on Albies Red Carpet: 'So Proud to Be in the Same Room as Her' (Exclusive)
The couple are fresh off of their dazzling red carpet appearance at the Venice Film Festival
George and Amal Clooney made a glamorous entrance at The Albies.
The power couple looked radiant as they made their way inside the Sept. 26 ceremony in N.Y.C., which was hosted by The Clooney Foundation for Justice, an organization the stars founded in 2016.
George and Amal share with PEOPLE what each other's support means to one another.
“I would support anything my wife is involved in,” George tells PEOPLE while on the red carpet. “She’s always on the right side of history, and I’m always so proud to be in the same room with her no matter what and this is an event where we get to focus all the attention on the people who don’t get enough attention.”
Amal adds, “He’s an amazing advocate, and it just means so much to me to be able to do this work together and for him to help bring to life some of the stories that we’re telling tonight.”
Responding to the sweet comments from his wife, the actor jokingly tells PEOPLE, “I’m giving her money right now, you can’t see, right behind her back.”
The couple, whose 10th wedding anniversary is on Friday, Sept. 27, also shared their plans.
“I’m taking her somewhere tonight, but she doesn’t know where,” George tells PEOPLE.
The actor, 63, appeared in a classic, tailored black tuxedo, wearing a white shirt underneath and a black bowtie. He completed his look with a pair of black dress shoes.
Amal, 46, perfectly complimented her husband in a black, floor-length Versace gown which featured a modest sweetheart neckline. She accessorized with diamonds as earrings and a bracelet while carrying a black evening purse.
Her glam was courtesy of Charlotte Tilbury Beauty, from her radiating skin to her bold eye look (which consisted of dramatic lashes achieved with the brand's Exagger-Eyes Volume Mascara) to her "Red Carpet Red" lip.
Since September 2022, the Clooneys — who will celebrate their 10-year wedding anniversary on Sept. 27 — have continued to shine a light on those devoting their lives to justice through the annual A-list event.
Speaking with The New York Times last year, George opened up about his partnership with Amal on their humanitarian efforts. "She does all the heavy lifting and the law-degree work, and I try to make it loud. I think it's kind of a good team effort."
Added Amal, "Exposing the problem is a big part of the process, and then we also want to be part of the solution."
Earlier this month the pair, who share 7-year-old twins Alexander and Ella, attended the Venice Film Festival premiere of Wolfs, where they hung out with George's costar, Brad Pitt, and his girlfriend Ines de Ramon.
For the Sept. 1 event, George kept his look classic in a black suit, which he paired with a matching black bow tie and dress shoes.

Amal took a bold approach in summer's hottest color, butter yellow. Her elegant, floor-length gown featured boning on the bodice, a cascading, ruffled skirt, and lots of lace. Hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos gave her a voluminous blowout to match the vibe of her "sun-kissed" makeup.
One day prior, the foursome enjoyed a double dinner date at Venice's Ristorante Da Ivo, one of George and Amal's favorite spots in the city.
