The Genius McDonald’s Chicken McNuggets hack we wish we’d known about sooner

Fast food hacks can be weird but surprisingly effective and delicious. Probably one of the most well-known comes from Wendy's—dip your fries in a Wendy's Frosty and enjoy the sweet-salty combo that is oddly amazing together. At Chick-fil-A, order a plain chicken sandwich and grab some honey from the condiment counter—it’s a game-changer. One of our favorite Taco Bell’s secrets? Add potatoes to almost any item for extra texture and flavor. These quirky tricks make fast food fun and tastier too!

Content creator Sarah Margaret (@sarahmargareteats) shared a McDonald's McNugget hack and while we weren't sure at first, she says it's great and other people commented that they have tried it and loved it, too. We're game!

What's the Sweet and Sour Chicken McNugget Hack?

Sarah said for this hack you need to order Sweet n' Sour sauce with your nuggets. Pour the sauce on top of the nuggets and then add some mayo on top of that. Close the box and shake the nuggets around to get them coated in the sauce.

This will be sticky, so you may want to use a fork to eat them, but Sarah just picked them up with her fingers.

"Mmmmhmmm," she said as she chewed one. "I have to try this more often!"

It seems like an odd combo, but it works! Sweet n' Sour sauce and mayo balance each other out perfectly. The tangy, fruity sweetness of the sauce cuts through the richness of the mayo, while the creamy texture of the mayo smooths out the sharpness of the sauce. Together, they create a sweet, tangy, velvety dip that enhances the crispy, salty, savory nuggets.

Once we saw this hack we went digging around online to see what else is out there and we stumbled upon the world of sauced Chicken McNuggets. It seems people have been drizzling sauce on their nuggets and shaking it all up in the box for years. Who knew? (Well maybe you did, but it's news to us!)

We love the idea of playing around with sauces and using them to create a glaze for your McNuggets. If you're not into the sweet and sour + mayo idea, you could just drizzle the chicken bits with your favorite sauce and shake it up.

People Are Lovin' This Chicken McNugget Hack

Several people commented on Sarah's TikTok post that they love this combo.

"Yes, I love that combination I add mayonnaise on everything," someone said. We love mayo, too, but we're not sure it goes on everything.

"Those look so good," another person said. It really does, and even if you don't like mayo, there's just something about this hack that seems delicious,

"Definitely worth trying! Love mayo!" another person chimed in. We're willing to give this one a whirl because it just looks too good to pass up!
