Gap Extends Partnership With Its Global Vintage Curator Sean Wotherspoon for Collection

Gap and Sean Wotherspoon, Gap’s global vintage curator, have revealed the latest offerings of GapVintage, globally sourced creations by Wotherspoon that will be available starting Feb. 4.

The GapVintage program showcases the retailer’s commitment to fostering its extensive archive that houses American classics since 1969. The program will release a series of yearlong vintage drops with Wotherspoon, a designer and artist, and releases a selection of seasonal themed pieces throughout the year.

The first drop highlights some of Wotherspoon’s favorite pieces with an assortment of recovered Gap pieces dating back from the ’80s, ’90s and 2000s, authenticated and hand-sourced from Wotherspoon’s travels. They include the ’90s striped pocket T-shirt ($55), and ’90s classic logo hoodie ($85), as well as rare exclusives like the ’80s denim jacket hoodie ($90) and ’90s nylon anorak zip-up windbreaker ($90).

“I’m excited to see Gap take curated control over the supply of its vintage product and renew this program in an even bigger way since we pioneered it almost two years ago,” Wotherspoon said. “As the vintage and secondhand market continues to grow and resonate among younger generations, I’m looking forward to bringing GapVintage to the hands of today’s youth around the world.”
