"I'm Just Simply Going To Lie To Them": Gabby Sidibe's Plan To Hide Her Fame From Her Kids Is So Hilariously Relatable

In a new interview with People, Gabby spoke candidly about motherhood and trying to preserve a sense of normalcy for her children despite living in the spotlight.

The Empire star is the proud mom of 11-month-old fraternal twins, Cooper and Maya, who she shares with her husband, talent manager Brandon Frankel. And while they enjoy sharing bits and pieces of their life on social media, Gabby still wants to "hide" them from the Hollywood chaos.

"There's a very strange thing where I'm a mom, and I'm a mama bear; I'm protective of my kids, but because of what I do for a living, I kind of expose them to this bigger world that I hope that they never find out," Gabby said.

"I'm more like Drake, you know? I really would like to hide...the world from my children, and I will for as long as I can."

When asked if she lets her infants watch her on TV, Gabby revealed she doesn't even want her twins to know that she's an actor.

"Everyone was like, 'Oh, do you let them watch you on TV?' And I'm like, 'First of all, my babies don't have screen time,'" she adds. "Secondly, I'm just simply going to lie to them as long as I can about what I do for a living. I'm going to tell them I'm a teacher, and also, our household is very normal."

"We try to keep it normal. It is kind of scary to share them online, but also they're just so cute and we have family and friends in other states, and sometimes it's just easier to put things on [Instagram]."

Posting them online isn't the only scary aspect of sharing her personal life with the world. Gabby admitted that the responses can sometimes be overwhelming as well.

"It's so odd because despite what I do for a living, I'm actually a normal person," she added. "And so, sometimes I'll post a video or something of my kids from the place of being a normal person, and then all of a sudden it's like a thousand comments and I'm like, 'Oh, I'm overwhelmed. No, thank you.'"

That's completely understandable, Gabby!
