Friends star Matthew Perry sparks fears in promo clip: 'Is he ok?'
Matthew Perry has sparked fears among his fans following his 'worrying' appearance in a new teaser trailer for the upcoming Friends reunion special.
The clip, which was shared on Twitter by People magazine on Wednesday, sees the entire cast of the iconic US sitcom come together for the first time in over 15 years.
'Is he ok?'
Matthew, 51, reminisces with former co-stars David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc about the show's 10-season run but it was his appearance and behaviour that left viewers concerned.
At one point, Matthew stumbled over his 's' sounds and seemed dazed while discussing how he took the cookie jar clock from the Warner Bros. set when the series wrapped back in 2004.
"Matt doesn't seem very well," remarked one Twitter user after watching the clip.
"Is Matthew Perry ok? His speech is so slurred," added another.

Other comments read:
"Cannot wait for the Friends reunion, but I’ve just seen the trailer and I’m worried about Matthew Perry."
"My fears for Matthew Perry have absolutely not been allayed by that trailer."
"I’m legitimately concerned for Matthew Perry something is off."
"It pains me to see Matthew Perry like this, he just seems off, gazing at the void, speaking slowly."
Some Twitter users, however, were simply excited to watch the special, which has been titled "The One Where They Get Back Together" and was shot in April.
"So weird seeing them look so much older! They're forever young in my mind," wrote one.
"I miss all of them, it’s nice to see them together again," added another.
'Obstacles and challenges'
Elsewhere in the trailer, David Schwimmer, who played Ross Geller, alluded to the 'struggles' each cast member had faced in the past.
"Over the years we’ve all struggled with different obstacles and challenges, and I think in those times it’s been nice to reach out and touch base and have a call," he said.
Matthew, who played Chandler Bing, has long been open about his battle with drug and alcohol addiction.
A jet ski accident in 1997 saw him become addicted to the pain killer Vicodin. "I was out of control and very unhealthy," he told People at the time.
His castmate Courteney Cox, who played his on-screen wife Monica Geller, was a source of support as well as a sober coach who lived close to him in Malibu.
Matthew has also revealed that he 'doesn't remember' several years of filming Friends, a time when he was drinking vodka by the litre and turning up to set hungover.
"I don’t remember three years of it," he told BBC Radio 2 in 2016. "Somewhere between Seasons 3 and 6 … I was a little out of it."
His personal life appears to be on the up, with the star announcing his engagement to 29-year-old Molly Hurwitz last November. The pair were seen out and about in California in April.
Friends fans have been anxiously awaiting the arrival of the reunion special ever since it was announced way back in February 2020 that the gang would be getting back together.
HBO Max has confirmed the reunion will air on May 27 in the US, which is May 28 in Australia, with BINGE or Foxtel the likely streamers for Aussie viewers.
The Friends reunion trailer comes after a TikTok user leaked a video of her conversation with Matthew after the pair were reportedly matched on a celebrity dating app, Raya.
The woman, who has the TikTok username @kittynichole, shared a short snippet of her FaceTime call with the Friends star however the video appears to have since been deleted.
"Do you always play with your hair this way?" he asks, smiling.
"Um I guess so, yeah," the woman is heard replying.
It's unclear when the video was taken and when Matthew and the woman had their FaceTime call.
