Former 'Bachelorette' DeAnna Pappas Breaks Silence on Arrest
DeAnna Pappas, who was the star of The Bachelorette Season 4 in 2008, finally broke her silence on an incident involving her ex-husband Stephen Stagliano that allegedly occurred around a month ago, leading to her arrest.
Pappas shared a statement through her Instagram Stories, which read, "On behalf of our client, Deanna Pappas, we wish to address recent public speculation and clarify the current legal status of matters stemming from an incident involving her former spouse."
The statement went on, "After a full investigation and review of video evidence, the assigned detective determined that Ms. Pappas was not the aggressor. No criminal charges were filed. In the best interest of the children, Ms. Pappas voluntarily withdrew a temporary restraining order in order to reach a cooperative agreement, allowing the children to be shielded from prolonged conflict and public exposure."
Continuing, the statement warned that legal action would be taken for attempts "to distort facts or interfere with the children's well-being," before emphasizing the right to privacy and Pappas' commitment to "protecting her children from further trauma."
"This matter is proceeding appropriately through the legal system, and Ms. Pappas will not be making further comment at this time," the statement concluded.
At the start of March, it was reported that Pappas was arrested on a misdemeanor charge after her ex-husband claimed he wanted to press charges for domestic abuse. She was released on a $20,000 bond, and soon after she filed for a temporary restraining order against Stagliano.
The couple was married from 2011 to 2024 and they share a daughter named Addison and a son named Austin.
