Food Network's Kardea Brown Claps Back at ‘Miserable’ Commenter Who Said She Laughs Too Much
The host said she posted the comment to “bring attention to the daily struggles” that she as a public figure encounters on a “daily” basis
Kardea Brown is clapping back at hurtful comments.
The Kids Baking Championship co-host, 37, opened up on Instagram about how she felt receiving "unjustified criticism" from people who watched her on the Food Network and shared how she rises above it all.
Alongside a screenshot of a comment from a woman who wrote, “I can’t stand Kardea, the way she is always laughing, it’s stupid,” Brown wrote, “Y’all see what I’m saying??? I just be at home minding the business that pays me….. but then there’s people like Miss Debbie who hates me because I laugh too much 🤦🏽♀️.”
“You have to be some sort of miserable to hate someone for simply laughing,” she continued. “I just thank God for the peace and joy he’s blessed me with. I can only imagine what it feels like to harbor that much hate in your heart. It has to be painful 😞.”
She said she posted the comment to “bring attention to the daily struggles” that she as a public figure encounters on a “daily” basis. She noted that she tries to “engage” with her community often to forge “an authentic connection,” and while people say “ignore the trolls,” it’s “just not that simple” because “dealing with unjustified criticism can be draining.”
“Listen…. I know change is not easy for some folks,” she explained. “But I am SO GRATEFUL to be [a part] of Kids Baking Championship because those kids are a reminder of unconditional love and acceptance!”
“As adults we watch children easily bounce back from setbacks…..showing us the importance of flexibility and adapting to change,” she continued. “And most importantly they remind us to simply let loose and have fun! We honestly need more of that in this world right now ❤️.”

Brown recently wrapped up filming her first season of Kids Baking Championship, a job which she took over from actress Valerie Bertinelli. However, the Delicious Miss Brown host told PEOPLE that there was nothing but supportive energy between the two.
“We saw one another backstage, and she was in the hair and makeup chair, and I was coming in right behind her. And she turned around, she was like, ‘Oh my God, you.’ And she gave me the biggest hug,” Brown recalled to PEOPLE. “She did say, 'The kids are wonderful. The staff is wonderful. You're going to have a great time. This show is definitely in capable hands.’ That was her exact words.”

“She's, ‘It's all you.’ [I have] nothing but great things to say,” she added of Bertinelli, who passed the hosting torch onto her.
Brown also teased what viewers could see in the latest season of the show, which follows 12 juvenile bakers, who are tasked with taking on animal-inspired challenges over 10 episodes.
“I cried a lot this season,” she said with a laugh, explaining that it was typically when the kids were frustrated. “That brings me to tears, that they want to do well and they want to impress everyone. It's a lot, and so it gets me emotional. And plus, I'm a crier anyway.”
New episodes of Kids Baking Championship: Amazing Animals air Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on Food Network.
