If you’ve walked outside in the past year, you know that sweet-and-spicy — also known as “swicy” — combinations are popular on fast food menus. Take KFC’s collaboration with Mike’s Hot Honey, for instance, or the spicy Refreshers that Starbucks tested last year.

Edible Arrangements, now simply called Edible, has just teamed up with Tajín to provide customers with an unexpected gift: fruit treats covered in the chile-lime seasoning. Yes, you heard us right: Expect Tajín-sprinkled pineapple slices and chocolate-covered strawberries arranged in a bouquet of decorated fruit alongside mini Tajín bottles.

The limited-run collection features several products — including chile-lime fresh fruit, mini Tajín bottles, baked desserts, and even smoothies at select Edible stores. As for the taste, Edible says the juicy fruit contrasts with their sweet snacks “with a tangy punch.”

We would consider ourselves fortunate to receive such a delicious gift, but Edible is also highlighting a rise in market demand for swicy flavors (including chile-lime seasoning) as the motivation behind it. In a press release, the company cites data showing that 10% of restaurant menus already feature a sweet-and-spicy pairing, with more to come, as detailed in a 2025 report from the industry research firm Datassential.

Edible’s latest launch adds a chile-lime kick to classic fruit gifts with a new Tajin partnership.

“Our trend research shows that our customers are demanding thrilling and edgy flavors,” Angela Johnson, chief innovation officer at Edible, says in the announcement. “As part of Edible’s continued evolution, we’ve expanded our offerings to go beyond the expected. Our partnership with Tajín is a natural evolution of our menu and showcases how to bring innovation while staying true to the flavors people love.”

Earlier this week, the brand teased the swicy collaboration with an April Fools’ Day video on Instagram. (And yes, you can rest assured that this combo isn’t just a timely prank.)

“For years, Tajín has been the go-to way to level up fruit with a bold, tangy, chile-lime kick — so teaming up with Edible was a no-brainer,” Juan Carlos Limón, brand marketing manager at Tajín USA, explains in a statement provided to Food & Wine. “They’re masters of fresh, high-quality treats, and we’re all about bringing excitement to every bite.”

This combination isn’t anything new — folks have been adding chile seasoning and spicy sauces to fruit for decades, particularly in Mexico and the Southwestern states. In fact, Tajín was created in Mexico in late 1985 as a topping for fruits and vegetables. It’s easy to see why this combo works so well: The contrasting heat from Tajín and the sweet, juicy texture of the mango is quite unexpected (and, as we can confirm, delicious).

You can find them at Edible’s more than 1,000 brick-and-mortar locations or order online for delivery. Running close to a birthday or anniversary? Edible boasts that its delivery network can reach 70% of households in an hour, not including delivery partners like DoorDash and Uber Eats.

It’s just one way to spice up a relationship.
