Will Ferrell is speaking out about his wedding no-nos.

While promoting his new comedy movie, You're Cordially Invited, in which he clashes with Reese Witherspoon over double-booked weddings, the 57-year-old actor revealed his own wedding experiences and dislikes.

During a recent conversation with BuzzFeed UK published on Jan. 30, Ferrell said that he disapproves of cash bars and the Macarena.

"Cash bar," Ferrell quickly answered when asked what the one thing he wishes he could ban from weddings forever is. "That's rude."

The Elf star also said that couples should ensure their wedding guests have enough food because when food ran out at his friend's wedding it was "not good." "That's a real no-no," he said.

In a different interview released on the same day, Ferrell recalled a wedding prank gone wrong. He revealed to This Morning that a friend asked him to object at his wedding as a joke, but it didn't go exactly as planned.

"I have a friend who asked if I would stand up and object, so I did," he said. "I stood up, in that moment where they're like, 'Does anyone object?' I said 'I do! I love you Carol! Please, take me back!' "

The prank was a total fail.

"My friend, the groom, said, 'This isn't Carol, it's Susan,' and I went, 'Oh, sorry,' and I sat back down," Ferrell continued. "No one really laughed, except he laughed. So the joke didn't quite land."

Ahead of their milestone anniversary, Ferrell shared the secret to his successful marriage.

"I think we were drawn to each other initially through our shared sense of humor, and that has remained the foundation of our relationship," he exclusively told PEOPLE in November 2024. "I think, ultimately, that's our bond, making each other laugh."

He continued: "Through all of life's ups and downs and raising a family — and with everything everyone has to deal with, especially with how hectic lives can be these days — it's always great to have this partner in crime that you can kind of step away from the fray and just share a thought and share a moment with, where you're both kind of still on the same page, and you get to kind of connect that way."

You're Cordially Invited began streaming on Prime Video on Jan. 30.
