IMG have announced a major inclusion to the upcoming Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia schedule, with Oscar de le Renta to close out the week, courtesy of Etihad Airways.

The iconic brand, which is currently under the creative direction of Peter Copping, is one of the only major international fashion houses ever to show at Australian fashion week, and one of two in 2016.

The Oscar de le Renta Summer collection, which previously appeared on the runway at New York Fashion Week in September 2015, will show alongside a staple of Australian designers, as well as fellow New York brand, Cynthia Rowley, which has also been added to the line up.

"We are very excited to partner with IMG and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia for our first show in Sydney. We look forward to bringing the world of Oscar de la Renta to stylish Australians," said Alex Bolen, Chief Executive Officer of Oscar de la Renta LLC.

Oscar de la Renta will be presented at MBFWA by Etihad Airways and supported by MBFWA strategic partner the New South Wales Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination New South Wales.

The show is scheduled for Friday, May 20 at 8:00 pm in The Runway at Carriageworks.
