Mary Kate and Ashley are hardly know for being party animals but these pictures prove that the twins would rather have been anywhere else other than the Met Gala on Monday night.

The duo arrived on the red carpet with Mary-Kate sporting a head-to-toe black sheath dress and Ashley opting for a pretty similar get-up, except in gold.

They both wore their hair down in a tousled do with flats - and while they stood in front of the media scum, neither of them raised a single smile for the cameras.

Even the sight of Jared Leto didn't snap them out of their funk.
