Turns Out Cindy Crawford May Not Be Retiring After All

Cindy Crawford made headlines on Monday when she announced that she would be retiring from the fashion world when she turns 50 this year.

However in a total 360-turnaround, the former supermodel has claimed that she may not retire after all and the subject of her retirement is a running joke in the family.

In the February edition of United Airlines' Rhapsody magazine, Crawford hinted that she would spending less time in front of the camera and more time on other endeavors after turning 50.

"I'm sure I'll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that's OK. I've done it," the 49-year-old said.

"I've worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can't keep reinventing myself. I shouldn't have to keep proving myself. I don't want to."

Her comments caused a furore in the fashion world, with many scrambling to lament their favourite Crawford moments from the past.

However it turns out we shouldn't be shedding any tears over the stunner, as in a new Instagram post Crawford claims she will "never say never" to any opportunities that may arise.

"Every year, I tell my kids I'm retiring. It's a running joke in our family," she said.

"And yet every year, opportunities pop up that really excite me.

"While it's true that I'm eager to shift my focus a bit to concentrate on my businesses, friends and family — I'm not making any final statements (not all headlines tell the whole story!). I have loved being part of the fashion industry for the past 30 years — and if that time has taught me anything, it's this: never say never. Thanks for all the support, I'm so excited for what 2016 holds."

We seriously can't keep up.
