We all love a body positive post, after all, it’s no secret that everyone on Instagram has parts of themselves they’re trying to hide.

However, when Aussie influencer Tammy Hembrow shared a video of her cellulite, her followers had something to say.

The short clip shows the mum-of-two twirling in a bikini, showing off the body she obviously works very hard to maintain. But it was the caption that had people gawking.

“Nuthinnnnn wrong with a lil cellulite ladies! Most of us have it,” she said, prompting many to question, “what cellulite?”

“I'd take that level of cellulite over mine hehe,” one person said, while another laughed, “Cellulite??? Don’t see any here”.

A third person was more sombre, writing, “and young women question why they have anxiety and depression, this app is sad”.

With 9.4 million followers, Tammy makes her money off her image - whether through her sponsored posts, YouTube ads, fitness-wear line, or more recently, the brow kit she’s launched with her sisters - and it’s clear her picture-perfect photos don’t fit the body positive bill.

Over the last few years, influencers with diverse bodies and backgrounds have been gaining popularity as followers tire of scrolling through impossibly unrealistic standards.

The ‘Instagram vs reality’ trend was also an influential one that saw stars shatter the veneer of perfection by showing the way angles, poses and lighting can dramatically change the way your body looks.

There’s also something to be said about the way women’s bodies are spoken about on Instagram, and although to many of us, it may look as though Tammy has no cellulite, she’s likely received enough comments about it to make even the most confident person self-conscious.
