Fans Cheer for Al Roker's Dog Pepper as 'Today' Host Shares Happy Update After Emergency Pet Surgery

Al Roker

Al Roker's adorable dog Pepper is finally feeling better!

The beloved pup, which the Today show weatherman rescued in 2012, underwent emergency surgery earlier this month, Roker revealed via Instagram at the time.

Now, just a few weeks later, the dog dad is happy to report that Pepper is back to her usual self.

The 69-year-old TV personality shared the good news on Instagram on Friday, May 24, posting a video of the black and white curly-haired pooch running around the yard like a young pup would.

In the precious video, Roker cheered for his pup, shouting, "What a good girl!" as the pup adorably chases the frisbee and brings it right back to her dad.

On May 5, Roker shared a few post-op snaps of Pepper, who he said was "getting great care" and already "on the mend."

"Woof. You can sleep on our bed as much as you want," he wrote at the time.

In his new post on Friday, Roker wrote, "My girl is feeling better," in the caption, while calling Pepper's recovery the "perfect way" to kick off Memorial Day weekend.

And fans were just as happy to hear the good news, as tons of Roker's Instagram followers flocked to the comments to celebrate Pepper feeling better.

"This makes me so happy! Glad she is feeling better," one fan gushed in the comments, while another person cheered on the pup writing, "Go Pepper go!!!!"

"Pepper’s like her dad…bounces back no matter what!🦴," someone else sweetly noted.
