Fans Can't Contain Their Excitement as Chipotle Revives Limited-Time Menu Item
Chipotle is bringing back one of its "top requested" menu items, and fans are so happy about its return that they don't seem to mind it only being available for a limited time.
On Tuesday, Sept. 10, the fan-favorite Mexican food chain confirmed it would re-introduce its Smoked Brisket to menus in the United States and Canada. The limited-edition protein option was first introduced three years ago before it disappeared.
Chipotle's Smoked Brisket is "made with Responsibly Raised® beef" that's seared and seasoned with spices like smoked serrano chili pepper and chipotle chili pepper. The brisket is then "hand-chopped into tender, juicy bites and finished in a savory brisket sauce made with smoky chili peppers" and "prepared in small batches throughout the day for freshness," according to an official news release.
It didn't take long for the news to spread on Instagram, with many fans congregating in the comments of one food blogger's post on the social media platform debuting the menu update.
"Smoked brisket??? Lets gooo," one fan cheered.
"Oh yummy," a second added.
"I wanna try the brisket sooo bad," a third confessed. Similarly, someone else admitted that they "gotta tryyyyyyy" it.
"Yall better keep serving that al pastor if you know whats good for you," a different top-liked comment joked of another recently returned menu item.
In the days leading up to Chipotle's announcement about its Smoked Brisket, the fast food chain also revealed it's testing a new menu item in two American cities. At approximately 80 restaurants in Nashville, Tenn., and Sacramento, Calif., customers can enjoy Chipotle Honey Chicken before anyone else, should it eventually make it to a bigger rollout.
In an Aug. 27 statement, Chipotle described the potentially new protein option as "a bold new take on hot honey" that features chicken which has "marinated with seared, smoked adobo (chipotle) peppers, seasoned with savory Mexican spices, and finished with a touch of pure honey."
So far, the test item seems to be a winner amongst those who've tried it (and even a few who haven't).
"The honey chicken is bomb," one Instagram user declared. "We have it here in Modesto,CA."
"I liked the honey chicken!" a second exclaimed.
"Honey chicken looks 🔥🔥🔥," another excited fan wrote.
