Fans Beg Jennifer Garner to Make Fan-Favorite Social Media Series Into a 'Real Cooking Show'
Since its debut in 2017, Jennifer Garner's social media series Pretend Cooking Show has been a huge hit with fans who love the star's down-to-earth approach to food—and the latest installment has viewers begging Garner to make her "pretend" show a "real" thing.
On Sunday, Sept. 15, the 48-year-old actress shared a new Pretend Cooking Show episode on Instagram detailing how to make a whipped cream cake.
In the clip, Garner did a little dance around the kitchen before sifting flour and mixing the dry ingredients for the cake, then moving on to the eggs, vanilla, cream, and sugar, before finally pouring the batter into a bundt pan and putting it in the oven (with a little goodbye wave). When she pulled the cake out of the oven—after changing into her pajamas—everything looked great, but she ran into a little trouble when she tried to get it out of the pan and the top was stuck. Still, the mom-of-three didn't let that bother her. Instead, she simply disguised the broken top with a little powdered sugar and cut herself a slice.
"Whipped Cream Cake. 🍰 Taste trumps beauty when I’m the baker, and when the recipe is by @realbakingwithrose from her beautifully revised The Cake Bible, no one seems to mind. Mistakes = the baker’s piece = lucky me!" Garner captioned her post.

Commenters made it clear they didn't have a problem with the slightly sloppy dessert.
"Just when I *thought* I wasn’t making cake today…🎂And thank you for modeling the art of eating imperfect cake in our jammies. 😅" wrote one fan.
"Please do a real cooking show," begged a second Instagram user.
"That looks like heaven," raved someone else, while another person found Garner's experience relatable, writing, "Yum and we have all been there with Bundt pans!"
Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson further showed appreciation, stating that she's "coming over" for a bite, while Molly Sims echoed a previous comment, adding, "Please make this a show. I know you need more to do. We need this 😂."
As for the baker behind the recipe, she was touched by Garner's shoutout, commenting, "What an honor and delight to have one of my fav people baking one of my fav cakes! ❤️ 🌹."
