Family Guy Season 23 Premiere Date Set at Fox — See How The Simpsons and Bob’s Burgers Will Be Impacted
The Simpsons are being couched for a limited time to make room for the Griffins.
Beginning Sunday, Feb. 16, Family Guy will return for Season 23 and inherit The Simpsons’ 8 pm time slot. It will be followed by the premieres of Grimsburg (Season 2) and The Great North (Season 5), and a new episode of Krapopolis.

Six weeks later, The Simpsons will resume Season 36, at which point it will reclaim its Animation Domination lead-off spot. Family Guy will then slide to 8:30 pm, and Grimsburg will go off-duty until an as-yet-unspecified date.
Likewise, Bob’s Burgers, which aired its last new episode on Dec. 29, will remain on hiatus until later this season. (Universal Basic Guys, which was renewed ahead of its September premiere, wrapped its 13-episode freshman run in December.)
Family Guy — which has released two, holiday-themed episodes on Hulu since Season 22 ended last spring — will kick off Season 23 with a Top Gun parody that casts Peter as Maverick, Lois as Charlie, Joe as Goose and Chris as Rooster. Additional Season 23 episodes will see Peter run into Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh at a brewery tour, Lois become a stand-up comedian, and Meg start dating a chicken she meets on a reality dating show.
All told, Fox’s Sunday scheduling changes look like this:
SUNDAYS, BEGINNING FEB. 16
8 pm Family Guy (Season 23 premiere)
8:30 pm Grimsburg (Season 2 premiere)
9 pm The Great North (Season 5 premiere)
