Explore Japan for free? Japan Airlines offers free domestic flights to foreign travelers
Travelers can now save some extra bucks on their next trip to Japan with a new promotion from Japan Airlines.
The Japanese carrier is currently offering free domestic flights to "explore more of Japan" when people book an international flight into the country, the airline stated in a press release. The offer â meant to create a "seamless travel experience" within Japan â began on Sept. 10.
To qualify for the offer, customers must book both a JAL international flight and a matching domestic flight within the same reservation.
Japan Airlines serves 64 domestic airports, providing travelers with the chance to visit the sake breweries in Niigata, the Hawaii-esque beaches in Okinawa and the 17 UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kyoto.

For travelers from the U.S., there will be the normal $100 stopover fee if they choose to stay in their first Japanese destination for over 24 hours. However, the fee is waived for travelers from Thailand, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, India and Taiwan.
