Yahoo Lifestyle Exclusive Georgie & Mandy Sneak Peek: Can Young Sheldon’s Pastor Jeff Extinguish a Fiery Family Feud?
It will take a divine intervention for Georgie and Mandy’s mothers to get along. That’s where Pastor Jeff comes in!
As TVLine exclusively reported in December, Young Sheldon’s Matt Hobby reprises his role as Pastor Jeff in the Thursday, Feb. 13 episode of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage (CBS, 8/7c) — an episode that also brings back Zoe Perry as Georgie’s mother (and the church’s most devoted congregant), Mary Cooper.

In the episode, a feud breaks out between Audrey and Mary after Mandy’s mom leaves Georgie’s mom out of a family photo album. Mandy ultimately takes Mary’s side, while Georgie defends his mother-in-law — a decision that puts him at odds with both the woman he married and the woman who raised him.
TVLine’s exclusive sneak peek shows the Coopers and McAllisters convene at church, where Jeff attempts to negotiate a ceasefire:
“I don’t know that he’s doing great, but he’s certainly trying to [mediate],” series co-creator Steve Holland previously told TVLine. “To put [Audrey and Mary] head to head felt like a really fun episode to do — and when we were breaking that story, it also seemed like a great chance to bring Matt Hobby back. It was so much fun to have him, and so much fun to put [those characters] in front of an audience and get a little Pastor Jeff sprinkled in our lives again.”
Pastor Jeff is the latest in a string of returning characters from Young Sheldon. In addition to Perry (Mary), Annie Potts (Meemaw) and Raegan Revord (Missy), previous Season 1 episodes have featured guest appearances by Craig T. Nelson (Dale), Sarah Baker (Ms. Hutchins) and Rebecca Metz (Officer Gilroy). Lance Barber, meanwhile, is set to reprise his role as the late George Sr.
New episodes of Georgie & Mandy air Thursdays at 8/7c on CBS (and stream next day on Paramount+).
