Called “Ballet Pink,” Alo’s collection features 40 new styles and accessories in a diverse range of performance wear, loungewear and fashion-forward pieces all inspired by traditional ballet attire while pushing the boundaries in the brand’s popular style. In addition to recognizing the need for pieces that cater to both on-and off-duty, Alo’s collection honors the importance of classic ballet elements while also emphasizing modern trends within the world of ballet.

The pieces, said Abby Gordon, chief design and merchandising officer at Alo Yoga, are “inspired by the strength and discipline of ballet” and “designed to merge the world of ballet with streetwear, evolving our studio-to-street mentality.” She added that the team wanted to take a fresh, edgier approach to embody the essence of dance in Alo’s fall lineup.

Mirroring its standing in the yoga community, which can be seen by the brand’s strong relationships and partnerships with real yogis, Alo tapped ABT for its ballet collection to further its authenticity. The company said that this started with inspiration from the color palettes of the ballet uniforms, where the designers worked to preserve the perfect ballet pink.

“We are excited to collaborate with the American Ballet Theatre to bring the beauty and artistry of dance into our new pre-fall ballet-inspired collection,” said Summer Nacewicz, executive vice president of creative and marketing at Alo. “We aimed to approach this campaign with the same authenticity that we bring to every new category, making it an obvious choice to collaborate with the exceptional dancers of American Ballet Theatre to bring this collection to life.”

Celebrating the art and athleticism of ballet, Alo’s campaign for the collection is further elevated by New York City ballerinas from ABT who are featured in the imagery. Bobby Whigham, senior creative director at Alo, said that as he ideated on the campaign he specifically called out principal dancer Chloe Misseldine, who he has long admired saying that he “instantly envisioned as the face of the campaign.” In addition to Misseldine, Alo’s full campaign includes Aleisha Walker, Betsy McBride and SunMi Park, shot by Emmie America.
