Everything you should be streaming this week
Having trouble deciding what to stream? We've got your back, here are our recommendations of the movies and TV shows you should be watching this week.
13th - Netflix
Want to educate yourself on history of racial inequality in the US and the Black Lives Matter movement? Great! Ava DuVernay's documentary 13th is the perfect place to start. The doco focuses on the fact the nation's prisons are disproportionately filled with Black people. If you'd like to take it a step further, DuVernay also directed a series on Netflix called When They See Us, which is equally important and eye-opening.
Queer Eye - Netflix
If you've never watched Queer Eye before, but were a fan of the original, let me tell you, the reboot is so much better than the original. The latest season sees the gorgeous Fab 5 head to Philadelphia to makeover a new cast of heroes. Expect tears and laughter.
The Bold Type - Stan
The Bold Type season four returns on Friday June 12 after a cliffhanger mid-season finale in March. Sutton, Jane and Kat are going through some big changes with work, life and love and we can't wait to see what happens next.
Bridget Jones - Stan
All Bridget Jones movies including Bridget Jones's Diary, Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Bridget Jones's Baby are all available now on Stan to keep you busy this weekend.
Jurassic Park I, II and III - Stan
Rom-coms not your thing? That's OK, because Stan also has the first three Jurassic Park movies arriving on Thursday June 11!
The Farewell - Amazon Prime
The Farewell is a comedy-drama and is partly based on the true story of director Lulu Wang. It follows a Chinese-America family as they return to China to say goodbye to their grandmother, who only has a short time left to live after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer. The diagnosis, however, has been kept a secret from her with the family organising a wedding to cover up the fact they're really gathering together to say their final goodbyes.
Dear... - Apple TV+
A 10-part docuseries, Dear... profiles a group of celebrities who have received letters from people who have been influenced by their actions. Stars who appear in the series include Lin Manuel Miranda, Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee, Stevie Wonder, Misty Copeland and even Sesame Street's Big Bird.
Truth Be Told - Apple TV+
If you like true crime podcasts, this might be one for you. Truth Be Told is about a murder case that propelled a true-crime podcaster to fame, however, new evidence comes back to haunt her and she believes the man she helped put behind bars may be wrongfully convicted.
