A reboot of the spy spoof Naked Gun is on the way.
The franchise, which started as a spy satire series starring the late, great Leslie Nielsen, was a beloved comedy fixture in the early 1990s. The original films even served as a star vehicle for the pre-Trial of the Century O.J. Simpson.
Family Guy and American Dad creator Seth MacFarlane and Erica Huggins will produce the reboot through their Fuzzy Door production company, with Akiva Schaffer directing and executive producing the project. Schaffer teamed up with the Emmy-winning Disney+ original Chip 'N Dale: Rescue Rangers movie scribes Dan Gregor and Doug Mand for the script.
While details are still somewhat scant, he's what we Shirley (er, surely) know about the Naked Gun reboot so far.

The Naked Gun reboot is tentatively set for a summer 2025 release date.
