Taylor Swift at the 2016 Met Gala
While Taylor Swift may not be Hollywood's most daring fashionista, she is perhaps the biggest celebrity in the world, and with that much power come invites to the biggest events, including the Met Gala. Since she burst onto the scene in the mid-2000s, the pop star has made six appearances at the A-list event, donning stunning gowns from designers like Oscar de la Renta and Louis Vuitton. Her first appearance at the annual Met Gala celebrating the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute was way back in 2008, when Miss Swift was still in her very first era.
Since her Met Gala debut, Taylor Swift has appeared on the Met's steps six times from 2008 to 2016, when she co-hosted the event (and supposedly met Tom Hiddleston and Joe Alwyn). Given her star power, it seems highly unlikely that she has not been invited most, if not every, year since that last showing. Yet for reasons unknown, Swift has not walked the red carpet on the first Monday in May since, and perhaps never will.
The 2024 Met Gala will be held on May 6, with the theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" and a dress code of "The Garden of Time." Anna Wintour will be presiding over the event as she has for decades now, and we're certain to see plenty of stunning looks on the red carpet for fashion's biggest night.

Will Taylor Swift be at the 2024 Met Gala?
While you can never count out a surprise, it looks like Taylor Swift will not be attending the Met Gala for the eighth year in a row. People confirmed that Swift would not be making an appearance as she is prepping for the European leg of her Eras Tour which begins on May 9 in Paris, France. According to air traffic records, her jet is currently in Paris, which confirms that she won't be attending. TMZ did report, however, that Swift was invited to the Gala this year, and Wintour pretty much confirmed the invitation in an interview with Today's Jenna Bush Hager.
"And [Wintour] said, 'I hope she comes and enjoys the exhibit,'" Bush Hager said. "So that could be yes, that could be no, which is what the reports are saying."
"At Target we have a 'code yellow' for missing kids. When it happens, the whole team drops what they are doing and we all help. Usually, the child is found within minutes. In this one case..."
