One thing for certain and two things for sure: I love Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling.

On April 11, Eva shared a super rare comment about Ryan on her Instagram, and it's a huge milestone.

Is Eva posting about her super famous partner a milestone? Sure. However, the topic of her post is the bigger milestone here. Eva highlighted Ryan's efforts to give stunt performers their overdue recognition in Hollywood.

"My man is the F best!" Eva wrote. "Unfortunately, success is almost only measured by box office."

"So I'm extra proud of my man for turning his entire Fall Guy press tour into a campaign to get stunts recognized by the Oscars."

In 2024, Ryan starred in David Leitch's action-packed comedy The Fall Guy, loosely based on the 1980s TV series of the same name.

Ryan portrayed Colt Seavers, a stunt performer caught in the middle of a conspiracy surrounding action star Tom Ryder (Aaron Taylor-Johnson), the star of his ex-girlfriend Jody Moreno's (Emily Blunt) directorial debut action movie.

As a former stunt coordinator and performer, David's filmography, which includes John Wick, Atomic Blonde, Deadpool 2, and Bullet Train, led to The Fall Guy, which brought attention to stunt work, and Ryan led the charge.

Eva wanted to make sure Ryan received his flowers for using his platform to advocate for stunt performers. "Now after Almost 100 years of stunt design not being acknowledged by the Academy, it's officially a category!! This is a HUGE success! And an achievement that will last. Congratulations to the the incredible stunt community!!"

On April 10, the Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced they're creating an Academy Award category for Achievement in Stunt Design, beginning with the 100 Academy Awards for movies released in 2027.

And, this folks, is why I stand firm in the belief that Eva and Ryan are freaking awesome. They know how to give credit where credit is due.
